All tourism projects or services who so wish and who meet the trademark standards may be certified. The standards include quality, financial responsibility with the area in which it operates, environmental preservation and protection and enhancement of local cultural standards.

Ecological and rural accommodation, craft groups, tourism trails and tours, among others, may apply for certification for the quality and sustainable tourism seal.

It is not expected that each member meets the standards 100%, but a minimum is required to obtain basic certification, besides being committed to improving quality and sustainability with the support of CDCT technical units.

Based on Global Standards for Sustainable Tourism.

Certification standards are based on the Global Standards for Sustainable Tourism, adopted in 2008 by more than 40 worldwide enterprises to promote the universal sustainable tourism principles.
